Editorial Standards

Editorial and Review Policy

How the content on Superb Assets is written, reviewed, updated and funded, stated plainly so you can judge it for yourself.

Who writes this content

Articles and guides on this site are written in-house by the Superb Assets editorial team and published under the byline "Superb Assets Team." We are a marketing and referral company, not an insurance carrier and not a registered investment adviser, and our writers are not acting as your advisor when they write.

Source material comes from carrier product literature, IRS and Social Security Administration publications, FINRA and SEC guidance, and conversations with the licensed advisors in our network. Where a claim relies on an outside source, we link to that source directly in the article.

Who reviews it

Articles covering annuities, life insurance and retirement income are reviewed for accuracy by Andrew Cavasino, CF2® — Certified Financial Fiduciary®, a Series 65 Licensed Investment Advisor, before publication. Posts carrying his reviewer byline have been through that review. Posts without the byline have not, and you should treat them as general editorial content.

Review means checking that product mechanics, tax treatment and regulatory descriptions are stated correctly. It is not an endorsement of any specific product, carrier or strategy for your situation.

How often content is updated

We do not run a fixed recurring audit calendar, and we are not going to claim one. Content is updated when something changes that makes it inaccurate: a rate environment shift, a change in tax or Social Security rules, a product change at a carrier, or an error a reader reports to us.

Each article shows a "Last reviewed" date under the byline. Where an article has not been revised since it was published, that date is the original publish date. We do not backdate or refresh dates for appearance.

How we are compensated

Superb Assets is free to use. We are never paid by you. When a consumer we introduce purchases a contract, the issuing insurance carrier pays a commission to the licensed advisor, and our compensation comes from that advisor side of the transaction.

That is a real financial interest and you should know about it. It does not change the information presented here: our editorial content is not written to favor a particular carrier or product, advisors in our network are appointed with multiple carriers rather than one, and no carrier pays for coverage, placement or a favorable mention on this site.

This is not individualized advice

Nothing published on this site is individualized investment, tax or legal advice, and no article creates an advisory relationship. Content is general education. Annuities are insurance products and guarantees are backed by the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. Before acting on anything you read here, speak with a licensed professional about your own circumstances, and consult a qualified tax or legal professional on tax and legal questions.

Reporting an error

If you find something on this site that is wrong, out of date or unclear, tell us and we will correct it. Include the page URL and what you believe is inaccurate.

Call +1 (908) 613-0549 or use our contact form. Mail can be sent to Superb Assets, 157 Wilson St, Staten Island, NY 10304. Substantive corrections are made to the article and the "Last reviewed" date is updated accordingly.
